To my nephew Deegan.

On July 30th 2013, after 8 years of trying my sister and her husband had a baby boy.
They named him Deegan, and our lives have been so different since.

He's 18 months now, and he's make our lives so much better.
My parents are overjoyed every Sunday when they get to babysit, and
their house is overrun with toys.
We all love seeing his personality develop as he's grown.
He's such a sweet, and caring child, he rarely raises a fuss.
He loves food and he's got his little happy belly to prove it.
He loves to pick up after himself, which is so cute to watch.
Last time I saw him, he was sad to see me leave, and he blew
me kisses all the way out the door.

I love my nephew so much.
I can't wait for these next years, and to see who becomes.
I know they are going to be amazing.

Memphis Date Idea #2: Live Music @ Hueys!

If you live in the Memphis area, and are looking for something fun to do on the weekends,
check out your local restaurants. A lot of them offer live, local bands for free!

Our favorite place to check them out is Hueys.
Which is a favorite around these parts.
It's a local place known for great burger, and has a few locations.

We go to the one closest to our house, and this past Sunday a great
local band Young Petty Thieves played.
They did some great covers (Bob Dylan, anyone?) and even some nice original stuff.

We went with our friends and neighbors, and had a great night.

Fun Sunday: Memphis Auto Show

I'm always looking for fun things to on my day's off.
Memphis has so many things going on and it's not hard to find a fun event to go to.

Last Sunday, my husband, myself and our neighbor Zach went to
the Memphis Auto Show, which happens once a year at the convention
center downtown.

It was $8 admission per person.
and there were two big showrooms of cars to see.
All the big car brands were there displaying their new models,
and you could even test drive them if you wanted!

We didn't opt for the test drive, but we had a good time hopping in the
cars and checking them out.

We had a great time!
And I hope we find more fun things like this to do.

Beating Blogger Procrastination.

Confession:
I'm a big procrastinator.
I start things and never finish them.
It's a trait passed down from my mother, she's mastered the art of procrastination, and
she has passed the torch on to me.

My goal this year is to conquer the beast of procrastination, and make this
a better blog.

Using my trusty planner, I'm constantly writing ideas, and scheduling and planning posts.
And I'm hoping that will make all the difference.
So far it seems to be working.
By scheduling a post in my planner, it seems I am 10x more likely to actually
do it.

I hope to connect, and build this blog more and more as the year goes on.
And I'm hopefully kill my procrastination urges for good.

BOGO Sales Items at Forever 21!

Forever 21 is my favorite place to shop for clothes online.

And they are having an amazing sale right now,
all of their sale items are Buy One Get One Free!

Here's what I wanna snag:

This faux leather skirt $14.99

I can wear all of these pieces to work, and also date nights with my husband.

I don't shop a lot, so when I do I like to buy a few pieces at a time, so this BOGO sale is an ideal
chance for me to stock up.

Insert Annoying New Year Hashtag Here.

I know you're probably sick of all the  #newyearnewyou posts that
are flying around in attempts to motivate, and convince you that this is the
year that everything will happen for you.

And I hope it does, but I buy into it every year and then the new year high
wears off, and another year passes by without much change from me.

I am sort of forcing this motivation and until I can convince myself that it's real.
It's less #newyearnewyou and more #fakeituntilyoumakeit.
But hey whatever works.

I, along with my trusty new planner hope that this is the year that I make some changes
that really stick, and make me proud of myself.

I hope that this year is a big awesome one for all of you as well.

They can hear you, You don't have to shout.

We are in era of technology.
When I was growing up, cells phones were rare.
They didn't hit popularity until I was about 15.
I got my first one at 17 and haven't been without one
since.
Here's a recent selfie for proof:

Unfortunately cell phones don't really come with a manual for proper etiquette.
And not everyone has the common sense to figure out for themselves what that etiquette is.

Here are my biggest pet peeves when it comes to people and cell phones.

1. When I am checking out in a store I avoid cell phone use. It's just disrespectful
to the cashier, and makes them feel less than human. I'm speaking frompast
experience as a cashier.

2. When you are talking to someone in person, and having a conversation
with someone on your Bluetooth headset at the same time.
Why are you looking at me like I'm the rude when?
You asked a question, and I answered. How was I supposed to know you were
on the phone.

3. Don't have extremely personal conversations in public.
I'm sure you're good friend Becky is thrilled that your rash cleared up, but I'm just
trying to eat my lunch here and I can't unhear that.

4. Cell phones are amazing.
So amazing that no matter where the other person is they can hear you clearly.
Unless they have bad reception. In that case no amount of yelling will help
SO PLEASE STOP YELLING.

5. This isn't a cell phone thing.
Stop taking pictures with Ipads.
You look ridiculous. How did you get an ipad into a concert to begin with?
I couldn't even sneak in my soft drink and candy bars.

Do you have any cell phone pet peeves that you would like to share?
